As the final day of the pastoral journey unfolded, His Excellency, Most Rev. Dr. Brian Udaigwe, Apostolic Nuncio to Sri Lanka, paid a special visit to the Minor Seminary of the Diocese of Badulla, where he met with seminarians, offered words of encouragement, and blessed their mission of formation and service to the Church. It was a meaningful encounter filled with hope for the future leaders of the Church.

His Excellency, Most Rev. Dr. Brian Udaigwe, Apostolic Nuncio to Sri Lanka, continued his pastoral journey through the Diocese of Badulla with a heartfelt visit to Christ the King Church, Diyatalawa.

After the morning visit to Glananore, His Excellency, Most Rev. Dr. Brian Udaigwe, Apostolic Nuncio to Sri Lanka, visited the Hawardon Retreat House, the official retreat center of the Diocese of Badulla, located in the serene surroundings of Haputale.

The final day of the pastoral journey of His Excellency, Most Rev. Dr. Brian Udaigwe, Apostolic Nuncio to Sri Lanka, began in the peaceful hill-country village of Glananore, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, under the care of Rev. Fr. Sameera Perera.

The third day of the pastoral journey of His Excellency, Most Rev. Dr. Brian Udaigwe, Apostolic Nuncio, concluded with a heartfelt visit to the Kahagalla Estate Church, a humble sub-parish under the care of Haputale Parish.

The third day of the pastoral visit of His Excellency, Most Rev. Dr. Brian Udaigwe, Apostolic Nuncio, began with a joyful and faith-filled celebration in the heart of Badulla.

The second day of the pastoral visit by His Excellency, Most Rev. Dr. Brian Udaigwe, Apostolic Nuncio, came to a heartfelt close with a visit to the Elders’ Home in Hali Ela.

Continuing his second day in the Diocese of Badulla, His Excellency, Most Rev. Dr. Brian Udaigwe, Apostolic Nuncio, made a spiritually significant visit to the Calvary Shrine in Ulhitiya — one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in the Diocese.

As part of the second day of his pastoral visit, His Excellency, Most Rev. Dr. Brian Udaigwe, Apostolic Nuncio, visited Bibile Parish, where he received a heartfelt and traditional welcome from the parish community.

On the second day of his pastoral journey, His Excellency, Most Rev. Dr. Brian Udaigwe, Apostolic Nuncio, was warmly welcomed at Monaragala Parish by the parishioners and Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Marlon Anthony.

Following his official welcome in Wellawaya, His Excellency, Most Rev. Dr. Brian Udaigwe, Apostolic Nuncio, arrived at Buttala Parish, where he was greeted with great joy by the parishioners and Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Rajeevan. Joining the celebration was Rt. Rev. Dr. Jude N. Silva, Bishop of Badulla, who also extended a heartfelt welcome.

The Diocese of Badulla joyfully welcomed His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Brian Udaigwe, Apostolic Nuncio to Sri Lanka, as he began his pastoral visit from April 4th to 7th. The official welcome took place today at Wellawaya Parish, where Bishop, priests, religious, and parishioners, led by Rev. Fr. George Christo, received him with great honor and gratitude.

ᴀʟʙᴜᴍ 02: The Annual Lenten Pilgrimage of the Diocese of Badulla took place on March 29, 2025, at the Diocesan Calvary Shrine in Ulhitiya, Mahiyanganaya, under the leadership of our chief shepherd, His Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Jude N. Silva, Bishop of Badulla. Thousands of devotees from all parishes, including priests and religious members of the diocese, gathered to participate in the pilgrimage. The event included the Way of the Cross, Holy Mass, and the Sacrament of Confession. This year’s pilgrimage was particularly special due to the Holy Door at the site, marking the Jubilee year. It was a day of blessings as the diocese came together as one family in faith to reflect on our Lord's passion, death and salvation for mankind.
