On December 13, 2024, a new house was officially opened in the Badulla Parish, as part of a special housing project donated by the Oblates to the Diocese of Badulla. Central Hospital Badulla, the Healing Ministry of the Diocese of Badulla, marked its 2nd anniversary at the current location. The celebration was highlighted by the installation of a highly anticipated C-Arm machine, which will play a crucial role in enhancing healthcare services.

On November 24th, 2024, I had the privilege of witnessing a truly special occasion in Diyatalawa as Christ the King Church celebrated its annual Feast of Christ the King. The atmosphere was filled with faith, unity, and joy as the parishioners came together for this important event.

The priests and reverend sisters of the Diocese of Badulla recently came together for a meaningful study day focused on the Pope’s recent reflection, Dilexit Nos ("He loved us"). Facilitated by Rev. Today, the Diocese of Badulla came together in prayer and unity at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Badulla, for a Solemn Requiem Mass offered in suffrage for the souls of deceased bishops, priests, and religious of the diocese. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 3:00 PM, followed by the Holy Mass, presided over by His Lordship Rt. Rev. Jude N. Silva, Bishop of Badulla.

The Diocese of Badulla recently completed its first animator training for the Holy Childhood Society, successfully led by Rev. Fr. Balanathan, Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS). The two-day training event was held at the Pastoral Center in Bandarawela and brought together newly selected animators from various parishes across the diocese.
