The final day of the pastoral journey of His Excellency, Most Rev. Dr. Brian Udaigwe, Apostolic Nuncio to Sri Lanka, began in the peaceful hill-country village of Glananore, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, under the care of Rev. Fr. Sameera Perera.
With hearts full of faith, the parishioners of this serene community offered a warm and joyous welcome. Their devotion was clearly visible as they gathered early in the morning to greet the Nuncio with traditional gestures of love and respect.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Jude N. Silva, Bishop of Badulla, continued to accompany His Excellency, ensuring that each visit remained a shared celebration of faith, unity, and the pastoral spirit of the Diocese.
During the visit, the Nuncio spent time with the faithful, offering his blessings and heartfelt words of encouragement, reminding them of their vital role in the life of the Church — even from the most remote corners of the Diocese.
The presence of the Church in these highland areas reflects the strength of faith and community, and the importance of reaching every soul with love and care.
