Continuing his second day in the Diocese of Badulla, His Excellency, Most Rev. Dr. Brian Udaigwe, Apostolic Nuncio, made a spiritually significant visit to the Calvary Shrine in Ulhitiya โ€” one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites in the Diocese.

This shrine is especially revered as it houses a Holy Door and a chapel that holds the Holy Shroud, making it one of only two such places in Sri Lanka โ€” the other being the National Seminary in Ampitiya.

His Excellency was warmly welcomed by the parishioners, who gathered with great devotion to greet him. He joyfully interacted with the faithful, had friendly conversations, and offered his blessings to all present.

Together with Rt. Rev. Dr. Jude N. Silva, Bishop of Badulla, and Rev. Fr. Hemantha Peiris, Parish Priest of Mahiyangana (to which the shrine belongs), the Nuncio also visited some of the Stations of the Way of the Cross, spending time in prayer and reflection at this holy site.

It was a deeply spiritual and memorable moment for the entire community.

Stay with us for more uplifting moments as the Apostolic Nuncio continues his pastoral journey through the Diocese of Badulla.
