A moment of grace and renewal marked the community of Idalgashinna Parish as the Very Rev. Fr. Priyalal Cooray, Vicar General of the Badulla Diocese, ceremonially opened the Holy Door at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Glenanore, a sub-station of Idalgashinna Parish on January 5, 2025. This significant event establishes the church as one of the two designated Holy Door sites in the Bandarawela Deanery.
Located in a serene and picturesque environment, Glenanore is known for its reputation as a miraculous site, where many have experienced the intercession of the Blessed Mother. The opening of the Holy Door invites pilgrims and faithful to enter through it, embracing the call to spiritual renewal and the outpouring of divine blessings.
Following the solemn ceremony, the Sunday Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Sameera Perera, Parish Priest of Idalgashinna Parish, bringing together a congregation of devoted parishioners and pilgrims.
Visitors are encouraged to make a pilgrimage to this Holy Door and partake in this spiritual journey of Hope during this significant time.
