Very Rev. Fr. Mervyn Sudarshan, celebrating 25 years of priesthood, offered a special thanksgiving Mass on February 9, 2025, at his home parish, Our Lady of Velankanni, Nayabedda. This was a deeply personal celebration, as the parish became his spiritual home after its establishment in 1990. Prior to that, this teritory belonged to Bandarawela Parish. The Eucharistic celebration was a moment of gratitude for the gift of priesthood and Godโs guidance throughout his ministry.
Earlier in the jubilee celebrations, Fr. Mervyn marked his anniversary on January 22, 2025, and later presided over a Eucharistic celebration at the Bishopโs House Chapel on January 28, joined by fellow priests in thanksgiving. On January 26, he also celebrated a solemn Mass at St. Anthonyโs Shrine, Bandarawela, his childhood parish.
Currently serving as the Episcopal Vicar for Estates and Parish Priest of St. Paul the Hermit Church, Haputale, Fr. Mervyn continues to dedicate his life to the Church. May Godโs blessings strengthen him as he carries forward his sacred mission.
