The Diocese of Badulla recently completed its first animator training for the Holy Childhood Society, successfully led by Rev. Fr. Balanathan, Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS). The two-day training event was held at the Pastoral Center in Bandarawela and brought together newly selected animators from various parishes across the diocese.

Under Rev. Fr. Balanathan’s direction, the program was designed to equip animators with the skills needed to lead and manage Holy Childhood Societies in their respective parishes. The Tamil sessions were facilitated by Rev. Fr. X. I. Rajeevan from the Diocese of Trincomalee, while the Sinhala sessions were led by national-level facilitators.

The training is expected to enhance the effectiveness of Holy Childhood Societies throughout the Diocese of Badulla, fostering a deeper sense of faith and community among young parish members. Rev. Fr. Balanathan’s leadership was acknowledged by participants, who expressed gratitude for the well-structured program and its impact on preparing them for their roles.
