The Diocese of Badulla celebrated the Golden Jubilee of its Erection. New Diocese of Badulla was established on 18th December 1972. The concelebrated Jubilee Mass was offered by His Eminence Most Rev Dr Malcom Cardinal Ranjith, the Archbishop of Colombo on 17th December 2022. Most Rev Dr Valance Mendis, the Bishop of Kandy, Most Rev Dr Vianney Fernando, Bishop emeritus of Kandy, Most Rev Dr. Winston Fernando SSS, the Bishop of Badulla graced the occasion.
